What’s Your Theme for 2024?
Every December, I look for a theme to carry into the New Year. I don’t force it. I simply stay open to inspiration from things I read or hear – and listen for a compelling thought that lights me up.
I always recognize it when it presents itself. It’s a fun exercise and I enjoy the process.
As I look to the New Year, I have an unshakable feeling I am moving into a new chapter of life, both professionally and personally.
A phrase continues to burst onto my consciousness with such consistency, it’s impossible to ignore.
My theme for 2024 is “Be Open!”
Two words that ignite an unshakable passion in me be open to everything life has to offer.
“This year, I am open to life’s endless opportunities, my infinite potential, and my unflinching courage – all with the intention to live my best life.”
This seems to be an ongoing lesson for me, and for years I’ve started my day with the mantra,
“Today, the perfect people, situations, and opportunities will present themselves, and I am aware and open to receiving them.”
I’ve learned without this mindfulness, it’s easy to miss people who could play an impactful role in my life, situations that can open my heart and mind, and opportunities for lessons, growth, and joy.
I want to be open, yet sometimes I am simply moving too fast and miss the moment.
I know change begins with awareness. With that in mind, I have committed to being more consistent with three activities I’m confident will support me in fulfilling my commitment to “Be Open!”
- My quiet time clears my head and slows me down.
- My words create clarity and help me attract.
- My time on the mat is a teacher for physical and emotional awareness.
These activities strengthen my Prana, or my innate energy. The more proactive I am with my energy, the easier it is for me to not only be open – but stay open. And this will play a key role as I move into this next chapter of my life.
