What is Your Inspiration in 2020?

Every December, I look for a theme to carry into the New Year. I don’t force it, I simply stay open to inspiration from something I read or hear, or a compelling thought comes into my mind.

I always recognize it when it presents itself. It’s a fun exercise and I enjoy the process.

This year, a phrase continued to come to mind. The spark of unlimited possibility it created in me was hard to ignore.

My theme for 2020 is “Anything is Possible!”

For those basketball fans out there, you may remember when the Celtics beat the Lakers in game 6 of the 2008 NBA finals.

In a famous post-game interview, super-star Kevin Garnett memorably screamed to the rafters, “Anything is possible!”

I love sports and I especially love basketball. Kevin’s unforgettable declaration is as inspiring to me today, as it was in 2008.

I look to 2020 as a new ‘season.’ Rather than a series of games, life will offer me daily opportunities to practice my fundamentals, be a dependable coach, strengthen my mindset, learn from failures, be humbled by wins, stay focused on my goals, and always do my best.

It’s a choice to believe in unlimited possibilities.

As I move into 2020, I’ve identified six core values to drive my decisions, behaviors, and even the vision for my life. I repeat them as a mantra, have them posted where I can see them every day.

They are: Love, Abundance, Creative Expression, Robust Health, Service, being in Nature.

My game plan is to harness the magic of these core values –  to overcome any fears or limiting beliefs –  and confidently move in the direction of my goals and dreams.

Where is your mindset as you look to the New Year? Remember, your attitude is a choice! Your life this year will be a reflection of your thoughts, beliefs and actions.

What is your theme? Share it with others who can support you – and together, we will all move into the New Year with strength and confidence and unlimited potential.
