Do you feel stuck? Are you disappointed that you haven’t been able to progress in any area of your life? Is there a goal that seems to be out of reach?
How long has that goal been on your goal board? How many months have you been saying you are going to reach it? Yet as the months go by you still stay STUCK! How does that happen? I believe there are two main culprits.
- Your actions simply aren’t matching your words. You may think they are, but the fact is, you are not seeing the results you want … your actions are not consistent with your words. And how does that happen?
- Your head is simply not in the game. You may think it is, yet the results prove otherwise.
Get Your Head in the Game
If you’re stuck and not moving at the pace you desire … it may have nothing to do with your ability or your competence. It could very well be that your mindset is not where it must be in order to create the achievement you desire. As they say in basketball, “if your head’s not in the game, don’t get on the court!”
You may have mastered the ‘how to.’ And you may be crystal clear on your ‘why to.’ But if your head’s not in the game, it can result in ongoing self-imposed lessons in frustration and disappointment. It’s excruciating to endure the daily inner dialogue of “I have to, but I can’t!”
Learning how to overcome the fears that slow the growth of your Direct Selling business is the key to transforming yourself from a ‘wannabe Champion’ into an unstoppable true Champion. The first step you can take is to commit to a daily Personal Development Practice.
Your Mindset Controls Your Reality
If you want greater success, you can’t keep thinking, saying and doing the same things. Jim Rohn, one of my favorite personal empowerment coaches, said it best: “For things to change, you have to change.”
In order to succeed in any part of your life, including your business, you must embrace Personal Development and become purposeful about how you’re evolving as a person. For most of us, every step we take on our journey is in some way stretching us … creating fear … causing doubt … and fundamentally moving us out of our comfort zone.
A daily Personal Development practice can help give you the courage to step into your greatness and embrace life on your terms. I am wonderfully inspired by this challenge and I live my Personal Development practice every day. It has helped me in business, with clients, my health, abundance. I’m active, not reactive, and I truly believe that our mindset controls our reality.
A Personal Take on Personal Development
There have been times in my life where I would say “level B” traumas happened – nothing life or death, which I would call an “A” trauma, but definitely “B” traumas. Back in the late 80s, my husband and I had a business building homes. I was a realtor and he was a general contractor. Things were going well for a while, until our area was hit with a water moratorium. We were suddenly unable to pursue our business – and to top it all off, 6 months later our home burned down.
All of these obstacles piled up and we were forced into bankruptcy, which I thought was the worst thing in the world. I was so embarrassed! And angry and frustrated. Fortunately I was lucky enough to attend a seminar where someone suggested Personal Development as a remedy.
To quote Jim Rohn, “What we think about, we bring about.” My thoughts could support my actions which could support my results! This was revolutionary, and I began to embrace Personal Development as a key to developing a reslient mindset.
Many years later, as I was living through a difficult and unexpected divorce, I heard the voice I had cultivated through my Personal Development practice: “Leslie, you can choose to have this help you be the best Leslie you can be.” Since then, I’ve heavily leaned on my Personal Development practice, and it brought me back not just to where I was, but to an even stronger place.
While traumas are certainly difficult to live through, they shape and re-shape your life. Personal Development can give you hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Seven Categories for Success
You can choose what it means to be a champion in any area of your life. I believe our health and wellness is a number 1 priority. I work with thousands of entrepreneurs who have achieved great business and financial success – and I always tell them, it means nothing if you aren’t healthy.
I believe there are 7 Life Categories for success: Health/wellness; spirituality; family/friends/relationships; mindset; adventure/recreation; career/money; service/volunteerism.
These are all important areas for everyone, though what it means to be a “champion” in each is different for each person. Which area is most important to you? Do you feel you are lacking in any area? How will you shift your mindset to become the champion you want to be in all areas of your life?
